Air-purifying Concrete
The next time you take a look at a pile of bricks, try to see things a little differently. That’s what people at Twente University did, and this led them to create a new air-purifying concrete that could result in a positive breakthrough in the fight against air pollution. This unique concrete comes with a titanium dioxide-based additive, where under the influence of sunlight will bind the nitrogen oxide particles emitted by vehicle exhausts, converting them into harmless nitrates instead. A single shower of rain will wash everything clean, making it ready to be used over and over again. Currently, this piece of concrete is targeted for use in a trial on a road of a small Dutch town of Hengelo. (Read the full post about ‘Air-purifying Concrete’…)

Sony has new Cybershots
Sony expanded its Cybershot line by introducing the DSC-T700 and DSC-T77 models, so don’t expect any DSLR class cameras in this post but welcome highly capable point-and-shoot devices instead. The former shares all the specifications of the DSC-T77 and more, and is perfect for casual shots, as it makes searching in-camera a snap thanks to the internal database structure and 4GB of integrated memory. Of course, that can be further expanded upon by using a Memory Stick, greatly adding to the initial capacity. As for the 10 megapixel T77, this is Sony’s thinnest Cybershot digital camera, featuring a 3″ widescreen touch panel LCD display, intelligent scene recognition technology, Smile Shutter and face detection technologies, high sensitivity shooting and in-camera image management.
