Bring the Force to your desk with Star Wars USB Hubs
You’ve got the ultra collectible Luke Skywalker lightsaber, the Padawan hair braid, and enough Star Wars action figures to choke a Sarlacc. Yet you still feel there is something missing on your desktop–something to bring the “Force” and make the “circle” complete if you will. How about an R2D2 or Darth Vader USB Hub? These Star Wars USB Hubs feature the likenesses of two of your favorite Star Wars characters and offer four USB ports to plug in computer peripherals. But these aren’t just lifeless hubs that sit on your desk. The R2D2 Hub turns his head back and forth and the Darth Vader Hub has glowing red eyes, while both play movie sound effects. Ozone Concept Car

Ozone Concept Car
Going green is the new pink it seems, and the Ozone concept car certainly looks like a pretty interesting vehicle to be in! It runs on just two large wheels at each side, and is powered by hydrogen, making this as clean as it can be while transporting you to your destination. I wonder how you’re going to park this thing though, as it looks like one huge Sony Rolly instead. Huge glass doors are where you make your entry/exit - doesn’t look too safe at all IMHO. Ebooks Are Just Not Good Enough

Ebooks Are Just Not Good Enough
Piper Jaffray & Company have conducted a limited internet survey (344 respondents) that concluded that roughly two-thirds would not buy an e-book, even if the price was low. Although any limited survey has to be interpreted with caution, this is not surprising my any means. The bottom line is that the perceived goal of e-books, which is emulating the paper reading experience, is far from being fulfilled. It is true. Additionally, content has not yet reached a critical mass and the delivery system is still primitive. (Read the full post about ‘Ebooks Are Just Not Good Enough’…)

CDT GPS Looks Different
Talk about a radically different GPS navigation system with portable media player capabilities - the CDT GPS PMP (so many Three Letter Acronyms!) amazingly retails for just $102. It features a 3″ touch screen display and does the whole gamut of audio and video formats. Interesting to note the hand grips located at the side though, does this mean you’re getting this for a fast driver since you’ll be holding onto the CDT GPS PMP for dear life while giving directions to your destination? Review: Das Keyboard Professional
If you spend a significant amount of time on the computer there is a good chance that you are a keyboard fanatic. After all, it is quite easy to become picky about your main point of physical interaction with your computer. This is why we hear people still praising IBM’s Model M or spending over $100 to get the keyboard that is just right. So far the people at Das Keyboard have put out two of the more interesting keyboards to come out in the last few years. The first, the Das Keyboard, was notable simply because its keys had no characters printed on them. The key action was good, but the membrane switch was unremarkable. Past the novelty of blank keys, there was not a whole lot to say about the original Das. (Read the full post about ‘Review: Das Keyboard Professional’…)

NASA creates hyperwall-2, the world’s highest resolution visualization system
by Joshua Fruhlinger, posted Jun 27th 2008 at 8:24AM Leave it to space nerds with money to come up with the world’s highest resolution visualization system. NASA’s Advanced Supercomputing Division at Ames has created the 128-screen hyperwall-2, a mega display capable of rendering one quarter billion pixels. Hyperwall-2 measures 23- x 10-feet of LCD goodness, and is powered by 128 GPUs and 1,024 processor cores with 74 teraflops of peak processing power. To top things off, 475 terabytes of storage keep the system rolling. All in all, hyperwall-2 has more than 100 times the processing power of its poor predecessor, hyperwall, from 2002. The elder hyperwall was unavailable for comment and is most likely on an alcoholic bender somewhere (Read the full post about ‘NASA creates hyperwall-2, the world’s highest resolution visualization system’…)

Mitsubishi Releases Specs of the ‘Frakking’ Laser TV
We finally have the details of the TV to be powered with ‘freakin lasers,’ and Dr. Evil is nowhere to be found. Or is he controlling Mitsu through a ghost subsidiary of the Evil Corporation? (Picture an impossibly arched eyebrow).  According to the latest statement straight from Mitsubishi’s Japan headquarters, the new LaserVue TV will be available in monster sizes only, 65" and 73," and is supposed to come out in the first part of the third quarter later this year. That translates to the first couple of weeks of September, if you’re fixing your planner at home, or even if you’re alone.  Laser TVs have been anticipated for quite a long time, even as far back as the 1960s.
