The Hello Kitty HD-TV soon to be found in Japan
I swear, if there is some kind of hostile takeover and the world ends, at the root of the problem will be Hello Kitty sitting in pretty pink.  I’m not sure what started my deep and true hatred of all things Hello Kitty, so I fully admit that it is entirely random and not at all logic based.  The more hilarious part is that I know I’m not the only one bad about disliking all that is Hello Kitty.  My theory is, anything that has taken over the world as quickly as Hello Kitty has must be evil, especially if it appears innocent. Analyst sees Micron joint venture, SanDisk as possible targets for Seagate
by Donald Melanson, posted Jun 24th 2008 at 4:42PMSeagate has already made its intentions about jumping into the SSD game pretty clear, and one analyst now says he sees two clear options at the company’s disposal if it wants to seriously make a go of it, each of which involve Seagate shelling out a good chunk of cash. According to Lazard’s Daniel Amir, one option would be to buy out Intel’s 49% stake in the IM Flash Technologies joint venture it has with Micron, which would reportedly cost anywhere from $1 to $2 billion (not to mention put Seagate on the outs with Intel). More likely than that, Amir says, would be an acquisition of or partnership with SanDisk, which he says would be an ideal fit given Seagate’s expertise on the enterprise side and SanDisk’s retail knowhow. Antro Solo gas-electric hybrid promises 150 mpg

Antro Solo gas-electric hybrid promises 150 mpg
by Donald Melanson, posted Jun 24th 2008 at 2:02PM While there’s no word on any plans to enter it into the Automotive X-Prize, it looks like the Antro Solo gas-electric hybrid here would at least be able to hold its own against the competition, with it promising to hit upwards of 150 miles per gallon on the highway. That takes a slight dip to a still impressive 117 mpg in city driving though, while the car’s top speed clocks in at a decent 87 miles per hour. To hit those numbers, the company took a couple of extra steps beyond the usual gas-electric hybrids, including putting some solar cells on the car’s roof to help charge the battery, and some pedals on the inside to keep it juiced up when the sun goes down. CoAir: world’s first UWB chipset with wireless, coax and gigabit Ethernet
by Darren Murph, posted Jun 24th 2008 at 9:29AMSigma Designs has been dabbling in wireless HD technologies for eons, so we aren’t going to get too excited until we see this here system-on-chip (SoC) actually hit some products that we care about. Still, the CoAir is a fairly sweet concept, wrapping integrated wireless, coax and gigabit Ethernet capabilities into one single chip aimed at whole home networking. Put simply (or as simply as possible), this chip is the world’s first to “simultaneously deliver multiple independent streams of video and data over coax cable, Ethernet cable and wirelessly without compromising quality of service and throughput.” Based on the WiMedia standard, it can reach speeds of up to 480Mbps with UWB (ultra-wideband) wireless streaming, and room-to-room linkage via UWB-over-coax can peg those same rates. Pen-to-PC in a whole new way

Pen-to-PC in a whole new way
For those who are busy, outgoing and are often in meetings, using your laptop (however small) is often not very practical so you end up taking notes through the old fashioned, and lot cheaper method, the pen. However not only does that hurt your hand after a while, but you get a result that you cant search, send off instantly, or mess around with on Word. In fact you often end up re-typing it anyway to make it usable which is frustratingly time consuming, and makes you wish there was a better solution. Well here it is; the Dane-Elec Digital Zpen. This looks (for the most part) like a normal pen, and you use it just like a normal pen writing on normal paper in a normal way, but the reason for its $140 price tag is that it is far from ordinary. 3G iPhone Compared
What’s the point of having something new without comparing it to the old? Here’s an image of the upcoming 3G iPhone with the older version, courtesy of our friends at iLounge. Its front is almost exactly the same as the original model’s, now with an array of three sensors (two proximity sensors, one ambient light sensor) in a J shape to the left of the ear speaker, and a wider black frame around its 3.5” touchscreen. Whereas the previous iphone was narrower than a full-sized iPod, iPod classic or iPod touch, the iPhone 3G is now the same 2.4” width, and slightly taller than the iPod touch and classic at 4.5” versus 4.3” and 4.1”.
