The Landmark Clock

Written by admin on Wednesday, June 18th, 2008 in devices and gadgets.

If you work in an industry which calls for keeping tabs on people in other time zones than your own local time, or maybe you just have friends who live around the world, it’s not always easy to keep tabs on each and every person. There have been various methods and applications which are made to keep track of multiple timezones on one gadget, but never one as visually appealing as the Landmark Clock.

The Landmark Clock users well-known buildings and sight seeing destinations from heavily populated time zones to illustrate the time in each area of the world in which you want to cover.

MP3 threatened by MT9

MP3 threatened by MT9
Change is messy.  Paradigm shifts, revolutions, restructures – any way you phrase it, widespread change entails considerable effort and uncomfortable periods.  The same rings true with digital alterations.  Challengers to the ubiquitous MP3 format face serious challenges despite their technical superiority to the old standard. The foremost contender is the MT9 format.  This upstart enables every user to split an audio file into six channels—vocals, guitar, bass, percussion and so on –- effectively making ordinary Joes into amateur recording producers.  The format provides unprecedented widespread technical access to users as they isolate specific channels in their audio files. Kaleidescape claims new 1080p upscaling DVD players “rival Blu-ray”
by Darren Murph, posted Jun 18th 2008 at 9:00AM And you thought Toshiba’s super-resolution DVD player taking on Blu-ray was comical. Kaleidescape — the company famous for selling grossly overpriced (albeit fanciful) DVD / BD archiving systems for wealthy home theater junkies — has just announced two new standalone DVD players that “provide a viewing experience that rivals Blu-ray.” The argument goes something like this: there are 170,000 titles on DVD, and “just 6,000″ (wait, for real?) on BD — why support the next-gen format when these two upscaling DVD players display content that is utterly indiscernible from Blu-ray. 3G iPhone in China Rumor

3G iPhone in China Rumor
Word has it that China Unicom could potentially be selected to carry Apple’s long awaited 3G iphone in China when August rolls around, but there is no solid proof as at press time. It will be interesting to see how Steve Jobs attempts to entice Chinese carriers to be a willing party in his rather demanding revenue sharing model, but hopefully an agreement will be reached since the China market is absolutely huge, thanks to the 1-billion plus population. Just wait till August for the full picture. Tags: dvr, gear, cool gear, cameras (Read the full post about ‘3G iPhone in China Rumor’…)

The Executive Desk comes equipped with moving gears

The Executive Desk comes equipped with moving gears
I’ve been desk shopping for the greater part of a week now and been grumbling excessively about all the ones that are poorly set up.  Most have no keyboard drawer and don’t understand that some people enjoy having more than one monitor.  Not only is this desk set up well as far as enough space for a decent amount of monitors as well as a keyboard drawer, it is way cooler than anything I’ve seen on the market.  The Executive Desk is apparently a fully functional visual and kinetic desk as well.
