Meet the Atom-based Eee PC 901
One of these days we are going to have to tell the people at Asus about a little thing known as the Osborne effect. Just when the interest in the 8.9-inch Asus Eee PC 900 should be peaking (they are finally on sale) we are introduced to it’s successor, the Eee PC 901. The 901 is not only expected to use Intel’s Atom processor, but it looks a lot better than the older models and has rounded edges, a row of hot keys, and metallic highlights around the machine. The French site BlogEee.net managed to score a number of images of the system that really showcase how the Eee PC is being taken to the next level. Review: Pop for WiiWare

Review: Pop for WiiWare
With the launch of WiiWare in the U.S. Nintendo has delivered a truly pick up and play party experience (which is both the point of arcade services like WiiWare, and the point of the Wii in the first place) in the form of Pop, a very simple game where players are charged with popping bubbles with the Wii remote. Much like Lumines and Rez, Pop gains much of its flair and addictiveness due to the aesthetics of its rhythms, sounds and colors and how those elements are intertwined with the gameplay. Just as with Lumines, the actions you make influence the music and tempos, albeit not to the same degree. Still, this effect in Pop comes off as a very nice touch to the gameplay. You know how the fanboy banter goes: Wii is teh lame because waggling is silly. PS3 is teh stupid because of those in-game installs and the slow Blu-Ray drive. What if the Xbox 360 were to get both of those “features” in its Spring dashboard update? According to a supposedly leaked list for the upcoming dashboard update, both a “motion sensor device” and HDD installation will be supported. The first item listed, “Calibration options for motion sensor devices” certainly makes it seem like a waggle stick is on its way to the 360. The other, “store installation data on Storage Device for faster loading” sounds a lot like the PS3’s proclivity for keeping an HDD cache handy. OCZ’s DIY Gaming Notebook
by Paul Miller, posted May 14th 2008 at 8:36AM We’ve seen this attempted a few times before, but it’s hard to imagine OCZ’s entry into build-it-yourself laptops will be any more successful. The new OCZ DIY Gaming Notebook is a 7 pound 15.4-inch backbreaker, which comes standard with an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT video card, Intel PM965 northbridge, SATA support for hard drives, 8x dual-layer DVD burner, four USB 2.0 ports, ExpressCard and a fingerprint leader. The problem is that the “optional components” are WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 and a TV tuner, with only the last of those being truly optional on a regular enthusiast laptop. In the latest of a series of when-can-I-get-the-Triac false starts, the three-wheeled electric car of obscene cuteness has a real launch date. No, really. According to AutoblogGreen, Green Vehicles is accepting pre-orders for July delivery of the Triac, which means you could actually be silently cruising the beaches in this thing come summer. For those concerned about safety and all that “not dying” stuff, Green Vehicles has assured the press that a safety cage designed by race car fabrication experts has been integrated into the car’s design. Also, they promise that the lithium-ion batteries are good for at least 2000 cycles, which should last you about 5 years. Corsair 32GB Ultra Rugged Flash Survivor USB Drive

Written by admin on Thursday, May 15th, 2008 in devices and gadgets.

Given Moore’s Law, and the general pattern of technological advancement over the past 20 years, it’s inevitable that we’ll all be carrying around tiny flash drives capable of storing terabytes of data one day. But even with that in mind, I’m still impressed with Corsair’s latest Flash Survivor USB drive that packs a whopping 32GB into a relatively compact package. What also sets the Flash Survivor apart from other USB drives is its ultra rugged design.

Clocky - With a Chrome Finish
This is great for those sleepers who hit the alarm clock over and over again. You know what I am talking, the people that are running around throwing their clothes on trying to get to work on time because they have over slept. They didn’t have time to really brush their hair or their clothes looked like they have been through the wringer a few times too many. You have seen one, you have been one, or you still are one. These are the people that need to have this creative invention. Chasing your alarm clock around will definitely get your blood flowing early in the morning. No more worry about over-sleeping and not making it your meeting on time. This little guy will not turn off until you find it. (Read the full post about ‘Clocky - With a Chrome Finish’…)
