NYC Ring Flash Camera

Written by admin on Tuesday, April 8th, 2008 in devices and gadgets.

The NYC Ring Flash Camera comes with a tagline “Now You’re Ready To Become A Fashion Photographer”, and truth be told, that ain’t very far from the point at all. After all, with the flash of the camera handing around the lens in a loop, images captured this way will result in typically high contrast, accompanied by dark vignettes to give an overall lomo feel. The handle-bar styled grip also ensures the camera won’t suffer from (too) blur pictures whenever you snap images with a single hand.

That’s according to Ryoji Chubachi, the CEO of Sony Electronics. Sony thinks that there is a market for such TVs, and they might be right for Japan, where apartments can be very small. However, even when I lived in a tiny apartment in Europe, I hated the idea of having an integrated player (VHS, DVD…) embedded in my TV.

Sony wants to grab as much “Blu-Ray hardware” market share as it can in 2008, so I guess that these TVs will show up sometimes this year, probably in Q4.

Samsung boss responds to bribery probe: “I am responsible”
Posted Apr 7th 2008 2:43AM by Thomas RickerFiled under: Misc. gadgetsLee Kun-hee, Samsung’s 66 year old chairman and son of the company’s founder, made a potentially damning announcement over the weekend. Following 11 hours of interrogation by prosecutors into allegations of bribery and maintaining a slush fund (among other improprieties), Lee said, “This is all due to my carelessness. I am responsible for everything and must take responsibility.” We won’t know for sure until the investigation is complete. However, the statement is less likely an admission of guilt than it is an attempt to appease the people of South Korea where the Samsung “chaebol” is more than just a brand, it’s a national symbol of pride… (Read the full post about ‘Samsung boss responds to bribery probe: “I am responsible”’…)
