Wipeout Pulse is Sony’s latest lighter-than-air racing effort on the PlayStation Portable. The game is still about two weeks away from its official release date, but some near-finished review code showed up at my doorstep a few days ago. Read on to find out whether you should get in the anti-gravity race or stay off the track. I first got a look at Wipeout Pulse back in December during Sony’s Spring 2008 Preview Event. At the time, there wasn’t much for me to say about the game, because I didn’t spend terribly long with it. Posted Jan 31st 2008 4:07PM by Donald MelansonFiled under: Digital Cameras Mustek isn’t exactly known for its high-end cameras, and its new DV300T model sure looks to be no exception, although it at least attempts to make up for its shortcomings with versatility, not to mention a decidedly non-digital camera-like package. Those shortcomings begin with a max 3.1 megapixel resolution for still images and no optical zoom to speak of, but you will be able to use the device as a PMP, a voice recorder, and an e-book reader, although we’re sure even Mustek must have had a chuckle at including that as one of the “6-in1″ features. No, you don’t need Prince to announce the Purple Magic cell phone as it was introduced today, being based on the NXP Nexperia Cellular System Solution 7210 for 3G, along with the Purple Labs Linux suite. This is but a reference phone as at time of publishing, but it is already been described as a “fully integrated, turnkey solution” - so in all probability, other handset manufacturers might be working on their own versions of the device already. It is hoped that this handset will further drive down the cost of ownership for a 3G handset. Which is your favorite 3G phone to date, and why? We had lots of fun with the lasers that we were able to play with recently, thanks to Wicked Lasers. Granted we really have no good use for them ourselves, but they are still fun to play with. The higher powered lasers were able to do some minimal damage in the form of lighting matches or popping a balloon, but Wicked Lasers has taken this to a new level with the introduction of their new Torch. The Torch, according to Wicked Lasers is the “world’s brightest and most powerful flashlight” and has “4100 Lumens with an adjustable high efficiency reflector.” Given that, it does have some pretty amazing power with the ability to burn plastic, light paper or even fry and egg or toast a marshmallow. Casio’s EX-F1, its forthcoming top-end digital SLR camera, captures data as such high speed (60 fps) and at such high resolution—6 megapixels a frame—that it merges high-quality photography and HD video in a single device. Full HD movies at 60FPS? Sure. But only sports photographers and other front-line shooters will be able to tell us if you really can whip a single frame out and call it a photo. It’s out in March. Nowadays great efforts are made in order to simplify our life activity. Thus, there is no need to spare a lot of time in order to perform any operation because just a single touch is enough for modern devices to understand what exactly you want them to do. However, we should never stop at what has been accomplished. Victor Soto who designed a new interesting gadget also adheres to this principle. His concept iRing represents a high-end ring, which helps you by means of Bluetooth technology and a tiny touch screen to control Apple devices, such as iPod and iPhone. It would not be an overstatement to say that almost everybody wants to possess an “all-in-one” device. Yet it is not an easy task to make such a useful thing multifunctional, compact and stylish at the same time. However, a lot of companies succeeded in doing so and brought to market a great variety of different modern gadgets. Danilo Mangini has also designed a very interesting concept. His gadget Lobster consists just of a big screen and represents, at the first sight, nothing interesting or unusual. Yet, this is not the case, because the modules, which can be connected to this device, perform different functions.
