Luxury Pooch Gadget: Cool & Hot Comfort Pad
The pet obsession in Japan continues to reach epic levels of absurdity. The latest example of this trend comes from the creators of the Cool&Hot comfort pad for dogs. As the name indicates, the pad allows your pooch to enjoy soothing cool temperatures in the summer and warm pulses of heat in the winter. This device might not be considered so crazy if it wasn’t for the price: a cool 18,500 yen ($173). For those prices it’s just a matter of time before we see the first K-9 latté drinks rolled out. Hershey’s chocolate syrup candle

Hershey’s chocolate syrup candle
Hmm. If a “tantalizing candle smells so much like the real thing,” which in this case means delicious chocolate, isn’t a bit irresponsible and cruel to have the words “Genuine Chocolate Flavor” printed several times larger than the it’s-not-edible “candle” description below it? I don’t know about you, but if I follow the scent of warm chocolate that’s been wafting through the house for 65-70 hours (approximate burn time) and see a can of Hershey’s syrup bragging about its scrumptious genuine chocolate flavor, I’m not gonna read the rest of the label. A throat coated with melted candle wax be damned: I’m drinking it. Available from The Lighter Side beginning January 25 for $11. Via bookofjoe. Eee PC with all the hacks, but can it ever learn to love?
Posted Jan 20th 2008 4:18AM by Paul MillerFiled under: Laptops There are plenty of hacks out there for the Asus Eee PC, but now someone has brought it all together in a glorious amalgam of hackery. This here exposed, but proud, Eee holds within it add-ons for GPS, Bluetooth, 802.11n, FM transmitting and SDHC card reading, plus a modem, USB hub and 2GB of RAM just for good measure. Total cost of the upgrades is $454.38, so this is clearly a labor of love — too bad all the radios in the world could never teach this little 7-inch beauty the joys of human emotion.
